Most people are not aware that you can invest in Real Estate through an IRA. Investing with your IRA through Real Estate is a way that you can control how your money is invested and have outstanding returns on your money TAX – FREE or TAX Differed. The IRA can be used to purchase homes to be flipped, or used as rentals as well as many other ways that I can help explain to you. You won’t get any of this information from your Financial Advisor, though, because they don’t make any money on it. It is called a Self-Directed IRA. The way it works is, you roll over funds from a traditional IRA, 401K, Roth, etc, to a Self-Directed Custodian. Each custodian operates slightly different, but basically you purchase properties through the IRA and all income and expenses on that property come out of and are put back in the IRA. There are however several Do’s and Don’ts when investing with a Self-Directed IRA. We would be more than happy to sit down and talk to you or direct you to a custodian that can answer even more questions. Here are a few links from some major news sources that talk about Self-Directed IRAs. If you have any questions, or wish to give your IRA a booster shot, give us a call.
